Avoid: Overwatering, soggy media and letting the plant dry out completely for long periods
Recommended Chaiyo Mix for Home Growing
At our Thailand nursery, we grow Basil Dwarf Greek using VEP Substrate under nursery growing conditions.
For home growing, we recommend
Chaiyo Universal Substrate as a suitable potting base. If your growing area is more humid, shaded, low-airflow, or the media stays wet for too long, add Perlite 2–4mm or French Bark Nugget 8–15mm to improve drainage and airflow.
Adjust watering based on sunlight, airflow, heat and humidity. Basil Dwarf Greek enjoys consistent moisture, but the media should not stay soggy.
Harvesting Tip
Harvest the top leaves or stem tips regularly to encourage bushier growth. Avoid removing too much of the plant at one time.
