Recommended Chaiyo Mix for Home Growing
At our Thailand nursery, we grow English Lavender using Universal Substrate with LECA Balls under nursery growing conditions.
For home growing, we recommend 70% Chaiyo Universal Substrate and 30% French Bark Nugget 8–15mm to improve drainage and airflow around the roots.
If French Bark Nugget is not used, LECA Balls can also be used as an alternative aeration amendment. Adjust the ratio based on your growing environment, including sunlight, airflow, heat and humidity.
For hotter, sunnier and airier spaces, the mix may dry faster. For shaded, cooler or lower-airflow spaces, the media may stay wet for longer. Always water based on the dryness of the media.
Harvesting Tip
Snip lightly to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Avoid cutting too deeply into woody stems.
Important Note
This is a live plant. Plant size, shape and fullness may vary slightly from photos. Bare root English Lavender must be repotted as soon as possible after receiving.
