Recommended Chaiyo Mix for Home Growing
At our Thailand nursery, we grow Green Holy Basil using VEP Mix under nursery growing conditions.
For home growing, we recommend Chaiyo Universal Substrate as a suitable potting base. If your growing area is more humid, shaded, low-airflow, or the media stays wet for too long, add Perlite or French Bark Nugget 8–15mm to improve drainage and airflow when repotting.
Adjust watering based on sunlight, airflow, heat and humidity. Green Holy Basil enjoys consistent moisture, but the media should not stay soggy.
Harvesting Tip
Snip leaves regularly to encourage bushier growth. Harvest young fresh leaves for the best aroma.
