Recommended Chaiyo Mix for Home Growing
At our Thailand nursery, we grow Italian Basil using VEP Mix under nursery growing conditions.

For home growing, we recommend Chaiyo Universal Substrate as a suitable potting base. If your growing area is more humid, shaded, low-airflow, or the media stays wet for too long, add Perlite or French Bark Nugget 8–15mm to improve drainage and airflow.

Adjust watering based on sunlight, airflow, heat and humidity. Italian Basil enjoys consistent moisture, but the media should not stay soggy.

Harvesting Tip
Snip leaves regularly to encourage bushier growth. Harvest the top leaves and stems before flowering for the best flavour and aroma.
