Care Guide
Light: Bright light to partial shade, morning sun is suitable
Water: Keep media consistently moist
Airflow: Grow in a bright and airy location
Media: Repot using Chaiyo Universal Substrate
Optional Amendment: Add a small amount of Perlite 2–4mm only if your growing area is low-airflow or the media stays overly compact
Avoid: Letting the plant dry out completely, harsh afternoon sun immediately after repotting and stale soggy conditions without airflow
Recommended Chaiyo Mix for Home Growing
At our Thailand nursery, we grow Watercress using VEP Substrate under nursery growing conditions.
For home growing, we recommend
Chaiyo Universal Substrate as a suitable potting base. Watercress enjoys consistent moisture, so keep the media moist but ensure the pot still has drainage and airflow.
Adjust watering based on sunlight, airflow, heat and humidity. Watercress should not be allowed to dry out for long periods.
Harvesting Tip
Harvest outer stems and leaves when needed. Regular light harvesting encourages fresh new growth.
Important Note
This is a live plant. Plant size, shape and fullness may vary slightly from photos. Bare root Watercress must be repotted as soon as possible after receiving.
